The first Daughters of the King Women's Conference was held in the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota. with Shampa Rice as the guest speaker. Shampa, wife and mother of two, is originally from Calcutta, India but lived in Colorado Springs, CO for a number of years. God met the women with a Spirit of repentance and inner healing.
The conference attendees invested monetary gifts to help sponsor two conferences in Northern India the following January of 2006. Connie Moland, facilitator of the Daughters of the King was invited to accompany Shampa to help with teaching and speaking. Connie also traveled to Northern Thailand to meet with missionaries for the sole purpose of encouraging them and blessing them. This visit precipitated an invitation to return to Thailand in 2008 along with the board members of Daughters of the King to host the first ever conference for missionaries and Christian Thai women in Chiang Rai.
